Arnie Teres became enamored with the blues after hearing Mississippi John Hurt in the mid 1960s. From that point on he began to learn authentic rural blues to preserve an authentic American art form that has been rapidly disappearing. Arnie also collects and preserves some of the lost gems of American music from the turn of the 20th century and the roaring 20’s.

Arnie played the college circuit in southern Ohio in the late 60’s and 70’s and then with the Kim Millner jazz band in the 80’ and 90’s. He had to stop playing altogether for 12 years after a serious hand injury but has now returned to  music after a complete recovery.

Arnie’s style is eclectic and he is just as likely to play a modern “outlaw country” piece as a tin pan alley tune. His goal is to present a wide range of music to appeal to a wide range of tastes.

Technically, Arnie is a finger picker who’s playing has been influenced by the playing of John Hurt, Gary Davis, David Bromberg and Steve Mann.

Arnie has mostly performed at open mics in the area and is fairly new to the local scene.
