WXPN Welcomes JILL SOBULE

Jill Sobule's recording career kicked off in 1990 with her album "Things Here Are Different" produced by Todd Rundgren, gaining attention with the single "Too Cool To Fall In Love." Her self-titled 1995 album on Atlantic Records achieved mainstream success, featuring hits like the satirical "Supermodel" from the film Clueless and "I Kissed A Girl," the first openly queer-themed song to reach the Billboard Top 20.

Sobule has shared the stage with Neil Young, Billy Bragg, Steve Earle, Cyndi Lauper, Tom Morello, Warren Zevon, and John Doe. She had the honor of inducting Neil Diamond into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and has been billed alongside Don Henley, Joe Jackson, Warren Zevon, the seminal LA punk band X, and Lloyd Cole & The Negatives. She frequently collaborates with comedian, actress, author, and SNL alum Julia Sweeney in the "Jill & Julia Show," blending music with storytelling. As a dedicated performer, she plays over 100 shows annually.

KEN MARTIN

Philly musician and singer/songwriter Ken Martin brings his own unique twist to Country music with his originality, clever lyricism, and wide ranging vocals. Though he does enjoy venturing into other genres like Pop music or sometimes doing covers of Big Band Jazz classics, Ken's original Country music takes center stage in terms of live performances and musical releases.

Found on a variety of streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and Bandcamp, some of Ken's most popular original songs include, If I'm Not In Love WithYou, Hard to Please, Be More Considerate, and typically a crowd favorite, Nobody Likes New Jersey.
