About Ollie

Ollie is our inspiration for both Ollie’s Orchestra and life. Ollie was diagnosed in April 2019 at 9-months-old with Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT), a rare tumor of the brain and spine. Ollie and his family discovered the power of music shortly after diagnosis while facing the horrors of cancer treatment. Ollie is now 6 years old and has been stable since May 2021. He is followed closely at CHOP. Ollie is a true joy who loves his 3 little brothers, his family and friends. He is a constant reminder to live in each moment and to stop and listen to the music.

Patrice Hawthorne's voice is a rare pearl, lifting the spirits of all who hear her sing. With a career spanning over four decades, Patrice has established herself as a talented singer, actress, and bandleader. As the fourth Peaches of the dynamic duo "Peaches and Herb," Patrice toured, performing hit songs like "Shake Your Groove Thing," "Reunited," and "I Pledge My Love" in Mexico City, Korea, Jamaica, South Africa, West Indies, and across the United States. She has shared the stage with legendary artists Stevie Wonder and Patti LaBelle, performed with the prestigious Philadelphia Orchestra twice, and appeared on national TV shows, including Jenny Jones, BET, NBC10, and VH1. Currently, Patrice leads her own band, "Patrice and The Show." Her original songs have been featured on indie radio stations worldwide and in films. With a passion for pushing her creativity further, Patrice Hawthorne remains a shining star in the entertainment industry.

Tina is a singer-songwriter from Philadelphia. In addition to being a musician, she is a therapist and has been able to use the power of music to help others. Her songs consist of themes surrounding recovery, identity, and overcoming the challenges of being a young adult. Her band Monstera is rooted in providing accessible therapeutic conversations to create a stronger sense of community and connection. She is dedicated to creating a space where you feel seen and heard and hopes you experience this during her performance!

Inspired by his Latin Roots, Sol Katana blends his taste for Pop music with flavors from indigenous rhythms, rock, soul, and R&B. He writes genre bending original music with bilingual lyrics. Sol’s debut album is currently in production, but in the meantime you can listen to “Bongo Jetpack” an EP comprised of covers reimagine through a different lens.

The Michael Kaplan Superband is a creative ensemble led by trombonist and composer Michael Kaplan based out of Philadelphia. The band features some of Philadelphia’s best jazz & creative musicians, and is comprised of various different lineups and instrumentations.
The band has performed Michael’s dynamic original music all over the tri-state area; in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore, New York City, Washington DC, and more at venues such as Rite of Swing, The Black Squirrel a club, Seven24 Collective, The Village Nightclub Lounge, Chris’ Jazz Cafe, West Chester University, and more. The band will be featured at the 2025 Kennett Jazz Festival this April. Michael is getting ready to take the full band into the studio to record his debut record featuring special guests in the coming year.

Artem Tenkeli was born in a small polar village there were no musicians in Artem’s family, but classical music was respected and often played at home. Music made a big impression on Artem as a child and would conjure up emotions and tears before he even understood what those emotions were. His grandmother, noticing his interest in music, insisted that he was given the opportunity to study it. It was almost impossible to find a piano so Artem’s studies for the first few years took place on a 2 octave toy keyboard. By age 11 he entered music school and began showing an interest in composing.

As his first pieces he began to write music to accompany fairy tales and stories, but soon began composing songs of his own.
For the next decade he would diligently study music. From finishing Conservatory, to being the soloist of the Philharmonic, working at various theaters in Moscow, performing solo and joint concerts he underwent years of learning and experience.

Artem has graced the stages of prestigious venues and collaborated with top artists from renowned theaters. He performed with leading artists of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky theaters, with musicians from the Moscow Virtuosi under the direction of Spivakov and with musicians from the Bolshoi Theater, Orchestra and the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra conducted by Fedoseev. He's worked with Gerard Vasiliev at the GITIS Theater Institute and as an accompanist at the Gorki Theater (MKHAT). Recently, he won the first prize in the PHL LIVE competition (2022) and impressed audiences at the Academy of Music with his performance in the Triumph competition of Rachmaninov (2023) The first place in the Nevada International Competition (2024). Franz Liszt Center International Piano Competition (2024) - 1st prize.

Artrm Tenkeli has taken part in masterclasses with such pianists as Pavel Nersessian, Alexey Nabiylin, Irina Chukovskaya, Polina Fedotova, Mikhail Arkadiev, and Igor Kotlyarevsky. He has toured extensively as a concert pianist in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Tajikistan.

He now resides in New Jersey, captivating audiences with his classical concerts in the New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Pennsylvania regions.
